The Whangarei Heads Arts Trail was initiated in partnership with the Discover Whangarei Heads Tourism group. The first ‘Trail’ took place in 2012 and was a huge success, revealing a wealth of local talent working in a wide range of artistic media. In the first year visitor numbers were around 800, in the second year this number doubled and we began to see the arrival of more visitors from Auckland and other Northland towns. Each year we look for ways to make the event bigger and better than ever.
