Heirloom Boxes
As an artist who works with wood, I like use simple design to highlight the natural beauty within the timber.

I have been working with timber for more than 40 years, I made my first wooden jewellery box around that time and haven’t stopped.
The first examples were made from recycled Rimu, then in 1996 we moved to Northland for work and I discovered Swamp Kauri.
I found the story behind this timber fascinating and its beauty simply stunning, so much so that I rarely work with any other timber.
While specialising in boxes, in more recent years I have developed an interest in sculpture and jewellery making with the occasional bit of wood turning.
I also make many other small items as the timber allows to avoid wastage of this magical material.
