Peter Brammer is originally from Sheffield (the city of steel) UK, where he gained his intimate knowledge of steel and metals working as an Engineer and craftsman. For the last 16 years, he has focused on being an artist and blacksmith. He established his craft and widely exhibited around the UK before moving to NZ.
Peter works both in traditional and contemporary methods to construct his pieces. Using steel, with the aesthetic of other materials such as wood and stone, he produces anything from chairs and tables to candelabras and sculpture. Some of his art works incorporate both function and interest. All of the pieces are bespoke; designed and created by hand and can be made to customer requirements.
Peter immigrated to New Zealand in 2001 and settled in Maungatapere, Whangarei in 2003 where he has a workshop and gallery.
Pete will be exhibiting his work on Whangarei Heads during the Easter Arts trail 2023
