I took an interest in drawing from a very early age. I studied architecture in secondary school in England and, after moving to New Zealand, was apprenticed in the sign and display industry. This led to my eventual involvement in the design of commercial interiors, my drawing and graphic skills having a strong influence in producing dimensional concepts to many clients.

People who have influenced my work are Simon Dennistoun-Wood, Michael Fowler, Ian Atfield and John Lovett.
Since retiring I am now able to spend more time drawing and painting from life, the subjects I love – old buildings, boats, vintage vehicles etc. I like to use pencil, watercolour, pen and wash as my preferred media.
