Creativity is an integral part of my life.
It is a process that I have employed throughout my varied careers as a teacher, counsellor, landscape designer and art therapist.
I have always enjoyed a variety of creative pursuits including home and interior planning, garden design and pottery. I commenced painting 15 years ago and during this time have attended many workshops in NZ and overseas. In 2008 I completed a Master’s Degree at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design.
I have lived in several beautiful places in NZ and I specially love to paint, photograph and interpret the NZ landscape. A source of constant inspiration is the natural beauty that surrounds us here at Whangarei Heads.
My style is expressive and impressionistic using oils, acrylics or watercolours. I like to capture the essence of a place, bird or animal by simplifying and abstracting rather than focusing on descriptive detail. More recently I have found a growing interest in portraiture and am looking to combine the character of individuals with relevant and meaningful aspects of the landscape.
