Andy Morrison: sculptor and woodworker

Picture
Picture

Andy Morrison was born in England in 1964, and works predominantly in the medium of carving.

He was originally a pointillist using 0.3mm ink dots and has evolved his style, now using acrylics which have become an integral part of his carving decoration.

Andy uses mainly recycled native timber and fence posts, creating vibrantly coloured organic forms giving them a new lease of life. He was a member of new Zealand's oldest Art cooperative (origin in Kerikeri 31 years ago) and is now a member of Exhibit A collective in Mangonui and exhibits his work at Helena Bay Gallery in Russell.
He has had one solo exhibition at Origin and a joint exhibition at Kaan Zamaan and was a finalist in the Northland Art Awards 2013
