Anastasia Parmson is an Estonian artist with Siberian roots and a French education. Since early childhood she was always making art and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts from Strasbourg University.
Growing up during the Soviet occupation her family didn’t have much and so she dreamt of beautiful things and places and created dream homes for herself in drawing
Traveling a lot and living in several countries around the world means that I am constantly looking for belonging while inevitably remaining an outsider,” Parmson reflects. She has recently moved from the high pace and stress of Sydney to settle in the calm of Whangarei Heads and is yet again getting accustomed to life in a new place. “Drawing has always been my way of creating pockets of familiarity and keeping a connection to my roots wherever I am, like tracing my place in the world,” she says.
Her most recent achievements include exhibiting at MAY SPACE gallery in Sydney and creating a 200m long public art installation in her home town Tallinn. You can see Anastasia’s work on her website www.anastasiaparmson.com and find her on social media as @Anastasia4art.
